Library/Naval Science Department present Dr. Bruce Gudmundsson

 Welcome Dr. Bruce Gudmundsson on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 @ 1500 in the Library


Dr. Bruce Gudmundsson is an historian and an author.  His areas of interests include military innovation (the approach that military organizations use to respond to radical change), military education, doctrine and organizational culture.  To date, he has penned 5 books and several hundred articles, tactical decision games and instructional cases.  He is currently the Director of Case Method Project at Marine Corps University.
Dr. Gudmundsson received his BA in Modern History in 1981 from Yale University, which was followed by an extensive career in the United States Marine Corps.  In 2007, he received his Ph.D. in Modern History from Oxford University. 
The former co-host of the television talk show “Modern Way” has served as a consultant to various organizations including the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the documentary film company, Nugus-Martin Productions.  He has also taught at the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, Oxford University, the United States Army War College and Dickenson College.
On October 6th, Dr. Gudmundsson will share his expertise in tactical Military Education with the SUNY Maritime community.
